Intelligene® Defense is an innovative cosmetic ingredient made from a mix of tomato skin wax and tomato seed oil, sourced from organic tomato cultivation in Provence, France. This natural, vegan and preservative-free ingredient is carefully made in France, highlighting our commitment to short supply chains and local economies. Developed in collaboration with the agricultural cooperative CAPL (Coopérative Agricole Provence Languedoc), Intelligene® Defense is an example of sustainability by recycling co-products from tomato cultivation in south-east France.
Intelligene Defense is a unique ingredient, low in lycopene and carotene. It contains triterpenoids, polycyclic compounds derived from the linear hydrocarbon squalene, with multiple biological activities. Intelligene® Defense improves sensitive skin condition and mood through the neuroendocrine cascade modulation (cortisol/DHEA). We are the first to clinically prove that a natural cosmetic active ingredient, applied topically, increases the salivary hormone DHEA (dehydroandrostenedione) responsible for positive emotions and therefore improves the general mood of volunteers while soothing sensitive skin.
