Personal data protection policy applicable from 25 May 2018
COSMETIC VALLEY builds strong and lasting relationships with its users, based on mutual trust;
ensuring that its users’ personal data is secure and confidential is an absolute priority for
COSMETIC VALLEY.
COSMETIC VALLEY complies with all French and European regulations and legislation relating to
personal data protection.
COSMETIC VALLEY enforces an extremely strict policy to guarantee its users’ personal data is
protected:
-  Each visitor to COSMETIC VALLEY remains in control of his/her data. COSMETIC
VALLEY does have unrestricted use of said data.
-  Data is processed transparently, confidentially and securely.
-  COSMETIC VALLEY is committed to a continuous approach in protecting its users’
data, in accordance with the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978 (as
amended and hereinafter “LIL”) and with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU)
of 27 April 2016 (hereinafter “GDPR”).
-  COSMETIC VALLEY has a Data Protection Officer (DPO), declared to the French Data
Protection Authority (CNIL). The DPO is dedicated to the protection of personal data.

PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY
COSMETIC VALLEY wishes to inform you through this policy of how we protect your personal data.
This policy describes how COSMETIC VALLEY processes the personal data of visitors when they use
COSMETIC VALLEY services.
Some of the User’s Personal Data must be considered as data personal in nature and are
hereinafter referred to as “Personal Data”.
This Policy may be modified, supplemented or updated in order to comply with any legal,
regulatory, jurisprudential or technical changes. However, the visitor’s Personal Data will always
be processed in accordance with the policy in force at the time the data is collected, unless a
mandatory legal requirement provides otherwise and shall be applied retroactively.
IDENTITY AND CONTACT DETAILS OF DATA CONTROLLERS
Legal reminder: The data controller is, under the French Data Protection Act (LIL), the person who
determines the means and purposes of data processing. The subcontractor is a person processing
personal data on behalf of the data controller. He/she acts under the authority and instructions of
the data controller.
The data controller in charge of processing Personal Data is COSMETIC VALLEY, a registered
association, with registered office at 1 Place de la Cathédrale 28000 Chartres, France (Intra-
Community VAT No.: FR 45 413570375) (hereinafter “COSMETIC VALLEY”). COSMETIC VALLEY is
represented by Christophe Masson, CEO.
Whether it is responsible for processing or a subcontractor, COSMETIC VALLEY takes the
appropriate measures to ensure the protection and confidentiality of the personal information it
holds or processes in accordance with the provisions of the LIL and the GRPD.
DATA COLLECTION & ORIGIN
Data is provided directly to us through registration forms.
PURPOSE OF DATA COLLECTION
The data collected upon event registration entails automated processing of information for the
following purposes:
-  Managing your conference/trade show registration
-  Tracking your participation in the various events organised by Cosmetic Valley
-  Sending commercial information from Cosmetic Valley

The legal basis for collecting your Personal Data is:
-  The legitimate interest of COSMETIC VALLEY to ensure the highest quality of its
services, to provide visitors with the best possible service and to improve operations
-  The legitimate interest of COSMETIC VALLEY to carry out optional satisfaction surveys
about its services in order to improve them
-  The consent of its visitors when required by current regulations, in particular with
regard to prospecting for commercial purposes.
The data of COSMETIC VALLEY visitors is primarily processed to enable the provision of services in
relation to visitor demand.
Visitor data is also collected to:
-  Prevent and reduce computer fraud (spamming, hacking, etc.)
-  Improve services
-  Conduct optional satisfaction surveys on COSMETIC VALLEY services (these surveys
are carried out anonymously or are anonymised soon after)
-  Carry out statistics, internal reporting for COSMETIC VALLEY teams and reporting at
the national level.
The mandatory or optional nature of the personal data requested and the potential consequences
of failure to comply with regard to COSMETIC VALLEY visitors are specified at the time of
collection.
NON-DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA
A visitor’s Personal Data will not be shared for commercial or advertising purposes.
The Personal Data of visitors may be processed by COSMETIC VALLEY’s subcontractors (service
providers), in full compliance with the guidelines provided above, exclusively in order to achieve
the purposes of this policy.
No Personal Data is transmitted outside the European Union unless explicitly agreed upon by the
COSMETIC VALLEY visitor.
DATA RETENTION PERIOD
Your data will be stored as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used, in
accordance with legal requirements.

USER RIGHTS
When COSMETIC VALLEY processes Personal Data, COSMETIC VALLEY takes all reasonable
measures to ensure that Personal Data is accurate and relevant to the purposes for which
COSMETIC VALLEY processes it.
