Further investigations must enable not only the development of eco-responsible manufacturing processes, but also the integration of sustainable solvents in the preparation of cosmetic active ingredients derived from plant extracts. Thus, some researchers have explored natural eutectic solvents (NES). However, the industrialization of plant extracts in NES faces several limiting factors, such as their viscosity, long time for preparation conditions requiring temperature increases, and tedious filtration steps.
To address these challenges, our team has developed a unique solution that combines a high-performance transformation process with an effective and safe product.
The innovation facilitates the handling of NES through specific equipment, parameters, and accessories. It is therefore possible to prepare NES, pre-treat and extract plant material, and separate the solid and liquid phases more easily and quickly.
This versatile and agile eco-process allows to work at room temperature, limits the number of unit operations, and facilitates upscaling.
Our technological solution enables the production of innovative, more effective ingredients and increases the naturalness index with low safety risks.
